Full Moon & Hanumān Jayanti

Full moons are my favourite, I have always had a fondness for them since childhood and was in fact born during a full moon window. Over the years I have been greatly interested in astrology, the placement of the moon and the planets. Astrology has been something that is easy for me to believe in, as I believe that we are all made of energy. That belief allows me to connect with the idea that we can be influenced or affected by the energy of other bodies, such as the movement of the moon and the planets.
There was a period of time where I was sharing about each moon on my Instagram and connecting with people there. That period ended as I gained a deeper appreciation for Vedic Astrology. I am now giving myself time to absorb, to observe how I connect with the information that I am learning.
Today’s full moon is in the nakṣatra of hasta, the hand or the fist. It is a playful, joyful moon that encourages us to reflect on our childhood, how we interact with children or connect to our inner child. It influences us to express or gain expertise in areas we are interested in. It is the moon in which Hanumān Jayanti (Hanumān’s birthday) is celebrated and as we reflect on Hanumān and how this deity is portrayed we can begin to understand this moontime as well.
Today I shall spend time basking in the light of the moon. Tomorrow is Good Friday so there is no morning class but there is our Moonlit Yoga class on the roof of our studio.
peace,
Renee Arundhati
