“Books” is the prompt for day 10 of #Gratitude30, an invitation to appreciate the wisdom and inspiration that is shared through this medium.

In past years I have shared my love for books and reading. This year I will share with you what I am reading at present. These are books* I am reading for personal study, to draw inspiration from or to entertain myself.

  • Pause, Rest, Be: Stillness Practices for Courage in Times of Change by Octavia Raheem - this one I read and reread, I shared a prayer from it as part of my recent retreat.
  • The Luminous Self: Sacred Yogic Practices and Rituals to Remember Who You Are by Tracee Stanley - Tracee’s second book is a lovely blend of teachings and practices. I find it particularly appropriate to be working through them during this period of Diwali.
  • Wintering: The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times by Katherine May - a gift from my partner and an interesting but beautiful read (especially for a person in the tropics who has a love for solstice celebrations and mythology).
  • Red Lily (book 3 of the In the Garden Trilogy) by Nora Roberts - this is my easy read, a bit of romance and mystery and humour that I read today.
