Happy November! Every year since 2018 I have been taking part in Positively Present's #Gratitude30 challenge. I consider it to be a powerful way to wind down the year, an opportunity to recognise what is good in my space and a way to encourage you to do the same✨

On this first day we are invited to notice the ways we take care of ourselves. We are invited to focus our gratitude on self-care.

I consider my yoga practice to be the foundation of my self-care. It allows me to build awareness of my body so that I can observe what is needed and when, so that I notice how I feel in heart and mind, and provides me the tools to take care of all levels of self.

Some ways our yoga practice can support our self-care:

🌬 Breathe - connect to the breath. Our breathing provides an indicator of how stressed or anxious we may be. We support ourself by taking time to connect to our breath and the energy that supports the body as we breathe.

⚖ Observe balance - physical, emotional, mental, spiritual. Are we taking time to work? Are we taking time for rest? Are we allowing ourselves space to move and to play?

🧘‍♀️ Meditate - become aware of your thoughts, build focus and concentration.

🪷 Community - being in the company of persons with similar interests and who are working on themselves in a similar manner allows us to connect to the support of these relationships.
