30 Days of Gratitude 2023 - Work
Renee Rampersadsingh | NOV 4, 2023

Once upon a time I had a desk job (some fieldwork required), fairly regular working hours and a steady income. Today’s #Gratitude30 prompt is “Work” and invites us to reflect on the tasks that give us purpose or that helps us to provide for ourselves.
When I reflect on that time and that job, I remember wanting to leave it for years before I eventually did. I remember the frustration and the stifled feelings that came from questioning my purpose in being there. I remember the need for that job and income at that time. I also remember how much fun I had with my co-workers and, as we head towards Divali and Christmas, I am remembering the times we spent celebrating with each other.
I look back with gratitude because all of those experiences helped to shape me into who I am today. It gave me a deeper understanding into the work that I want to be doing. It provided some of the foundation that I have built on, helps me to appreciate where I am now and what I am capable of doing.
When we come into a grateful space we find more things to be grateful for.
My work now is very fulfilling, the hours can be crazy, the income is not the steadiest. Each day brings moments of joy, just as there were moments of joy in my previous job. I am grateful for the space I inhabited then and the space I am in now.
When you think of the work that you do, what are you grateful for?
