Day 4 of Positively Present's #Gratitude30 challenge invites us to feel gratitude for the routines we have established in our lives.

In my early teens, through the Blue Star (Trinidad & Tobago), I was introduced to both Yoga and Ayurveda. Principles, philosophy and practices that have allowed me to manage myself. Whilst I have to admit that I am not the best at following routines, through experience I know that when I do, life flows a bit more smoothly.

Ayurveda introduces us to dinacharya, a daily routine, which allows us to better understand and to incorporate the practices that set the tone for our day. This is not something that we can see on social media and follow but that we must discover through our own observation and through consultation with those who have studied Ayurveda. What works for one person may not work for another.

If you follow me you may have seen part of my morning routine - drinking my warm water and choosing a card for the day. It is one of my longest running routines, one that allows me to settle, to care for self and to greet the day.

What routines bring you joy?
