Finding ourselves reflected in others

I
AFTER SILENCE for Rachel Carson
An original poem by Neil Gaiman, composed for the 2018 edition of The Universe in Verse, and read by Amanda Palmer.
On social media and through my newsletters I share a lot of art, poetry, videos of things that I find interesting. I do so because I am always finding some part of my experience, or some measure of wonder in what others create. Reflections of self and of what I consider to be beautiful, or educational.
During this countdown to my birthday I have been sharing various definitions of yoga from the scriptures. I have been reflecting in my quiet moments about my own thoughts on yoga. I do not have a concise definition. Yoga for me is reverence and grace, it is building an understanding of self and my purpose, it is connection to community and the Divine. Yoga is practice in each moment, self-mastery, an observation and understanding of my actions and reactions.
There are times when this is harder to do than others, times when one can get caught up in the everyday. Then there are times when this is easier to do than others, times when with every breath we can feel our connection to those around us, to nature, to the Divine. Times when we can look around and find ourselves reflected in the world around us.
peace,
