As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024, I collaborated with a group of entrepreneurs to facilitate "The Empowered Entrepreneur"- an event for female entrepreneurs, which took place on the 24th November. This event was organised by Simply Law Attorneys-at-Law. I mentioned it, very briefly, in my gratitude post for that day.

Here's an outline of the event:

  • ✨ Tami, of Simply Law Attorneys-at-Law, provided tips with regards to the legal framework and documents that may be needed by entrepreneurs.

  • ✨ I led a session on mindfulness for entrepreneurs, and the need to build these practices into our lives as support for everyday self-management.

  • ✨ Esther, of Full of Grace, conducted a practical session on etiquette for entrepreneurs, and shared the reminder that etiquette is about respect, confidence and communication.

  • ✨ Gareth, of Gareth Leigh Photography, shared about the importance of personal branding as an entrepreneur and presenting ourselves well on social media.

  • Participants were also invited to partake of the event’s corporate closet and were gifted with a professional headshot session.

In my session I shared about mindfulness for entrepreneurs, the relevance and benefits, before leading our participants into a brief practical session. Participants shared that they could appreciate how building such a practice would be beneficial to managing the emotions and mindset of being an entrepreneur.

In conversation with participants after the event, what really stood out for me was that each participant mentioned how well the sessions expanded on and flowed into each other. This is something that I have seen to be lacking in other events that I have attended and been invited to share at.

In leading up to our event, all facilitators discussed and shared on what we would be sharing and its relevance to the event. We considered how each session would flow into each other so that we would retain participant engagement. I look forward to exploring more of this kind of collaboration and co-creation with others.

Much thanks to our attendees for co-creating this space of community, growth and entrepreneurship. Thanks also to Tami for initiating the conversations that led to this event.
